    The employees of Steuben REMC perform services for several associations in the community.  They have helped install new lights for the ballparks at Boomershine Field in Angola.  REMC crews  worked together to install new poles for the lights around the ball fields.
   

        The crews have also helped install poles for the Hamilton Community Playground and Friendship Park playground in Angola.  The Steuben County community volunteered to construct these playgrounds in short periods of time.
        The crews install  and lights and speaker systems at the Steuben County Fairground each year for the 4-H fair.

       Alan Hile, Member Service Director, presents a safety demonstration to each 2nd grade class in the service area each year.  Along with Alan's presentations the linemen occasionally give safety talks to other classes within the service area. They demonstrate the safety equipment the linemen use to do work on the lines and answer questions from the students regarding safety around electric lines.                                              

      The REMC was a collection point for used Christmas cards to be shipped to Salt Lake City, UT for recycling.

     The REMC office was a collection point for "Care Package Goods" for the troops during Operation Enduring Freedom.
