EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT
Steve Parnin
Inventory Specialist
Steve Parnin began his REMC
career on February 11, 1985.
Since that time, he has worked in the REMC
warehouse, keeping track of our inventory of new equipment and hardware, spare
parts and just about everything else involved in the day-to-day operations of
our line crews. He is responsible
for purchasing line hardware, metering equipment, transformers and wire.
He then issues those items to the line crews as they need them for their
work orders to construct new lines or repair existing facilities.
He says that one nice thing about his job is that no two days are ever
the same and it is a challenge to keep the warehouse stocked with whatever the
crews might need to do their jobs.
Steve, who grew up in Angola, graduated from Angola High School in 1984.
He was active in sports in school, and even after graduation,
participated in local softball, bowling and golf leagues.
He still plays golf and bowls, and when possible, loves to get to Detroit
to take in a Tiger’s Baseball game.
He and his wife Gay live south of Orland, where they enjoy the country life and
working in their yard. Steve is
step-father to three boys; Loren, an
ITT Graduate, Justin, a senior at Indiana
University, and Andrew, a sophomore at Holy Cross College.
